About the event

A very special collaboration...

EVENT DESCRIPTION: Envision being entertained by a spirited spoken word poet, being moved beyond language by an accomplished cellist, and then guided inward by a powerful healer. This is the lovely layer cake of experiences we are thrilled to offer on Sunday December 17th, within the cozy container of the Wordcrafters’ studio—tea included.

As we count down to the darkest day of the year, we warmly welcome you into this opportunity to be together in celebration of the winter solstice, in joy or sorrow or both. Jorah LaFleur will be releasing her new book of poems: “Words for Gratitude,” with special gift book bundles. Lela Sky will be offering gift certificates for all of her amazing healing modalities. And Nisha Calkins will be opening up her cello studio to new students.

We hope you can join us for this unique triple-decker, book release show, healing journey, and solstice celebration.

► 4:00 - 4:30 pm DOORS ► 4:30 - 6:00 pm SHOW

► 6:00 - 7:00 pm Social Hour and Gift Shopping (Free, drop-ins most welcome!)

********* ABOUT LELA SKY:

Lela Ross is the owner of Lela Sky LLC, offering intuitive guidance healing sessions, licensed Massage therapy and energy body work, intuitive life coaching (one on one and small group apprenticeships), Yoga classes, and full immersion retreats and workshops, online and in person opportunities, in Eugene, Oregon.

Lela has studied universal shamanism, energy healing, massage therapy, alchemical healing, ancestral healing, grief rituals, sacred space holding, and Equity and inclusion work, in depth for the last 7+ years. She brings her ancestral and cultural lineage, to her healing practices and in the creation of her products.

"My musical background is diverse and grounded in classical training. I began my lifelong love of the cello in 1992, at the age of 10. Since then, I have performed and recorded with a variety of musical artists, poets, storytellers, and dancers. From 2001 to 2002, I studied cello in Germany and went on to university, continuing to grow and develop as a cellist and professional musician.

In 2008, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Before graduating in 2006, I became a founding member of Kef, a prominent East European/Balkan Music Band that tours in the Northwest each year. We released our first album in 2009 and began a brass band in 2012, in which I also play a Euphonium (brass instrument).

I first began teaching cello in 2011 and have since continued to discover and expand my love of sharing and teaching the cello to people of many ages and levels, experiencing the joy and fulfillment of my students developing confidence and their self-expression with the cello (for educational and professional purposes, competitions, therapy, healing, fun, and enjoyment)."
