On Saturday, December 19th, streaming live from Tsunami Books. In celebration of the upcoming release of her book “COVIDIAN TIMES: in place sheltered,” spoken word artist Jorah LaFleur will be performing poems and beaming banter into your screen of choice.
She is thrilled to be joined by the wildly talented, and exceptionally entertaining, singer-songwriter David Jacobs-Strain. As a nationally acclaimed song poet, David is known for both his virtuosity and spirit of emotional abandon; his live show moves from humorous, subversive blues, to delicate balladry, and then swings back to swampy rock and roll.
Nestled between the bookshelves, these weavers of word and sound will be performing solo, and adventuring into live collaboration (maybe magic, maybe mayhem ; ). All in attendance will be welcomed into farewelling this unprecedented year, as we near the longest night before light’s return.
This is a FREE show for our community near and far (donations welcomed), which we hope can create a little closeness of heart while we shelter apart. You are warmly invited to join this Winter- solstice-weekend celebration .
THANK YOU to the Lane Arts Council and City of Eugene Cultural Services for their support of this offering.
